William "Bill" Eaker

William Christy “Bill” Eaker, age 76, of Cherryville, passed away Monday, June 3, 2024, at Wendover Hospice House.  He was born October 18, 1947, in Lincoln County to the late Philip A. Eaker, Sr. and Syble Jenkins Eaker. Bill was a Vietnam Veteran of the United States Army. He was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Pumpkin Center. Bill was an avid outdoorsman, and he could often be found hunting and fishing. Bill volunteered in Disaster Relief with the Baptist Men Association. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service for many years as a rural carrier in Lincoln County. Bill also loved his family dearly and enjoyed time spent with them.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lenita Louise Ballard Eaker; infant sister, LaDonna Eaker; and brother, Philip Eaker, Jr.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Lacindi and Mark Robinson, Clifford and Wendy Jenkins, Jr., Matthew C. Eaker, and Mia Eaker; brother, Robert “Bob” Eaker; grandchildren, Carla Weber, Johnathan Weber, Jeffrey Eaker, Clifford “Spanky” Jenkins III, Austin Jenkins, Christian Eaker, Jacob Eaker, and Allayah Eaker; and great-grandchildren, Kayleigh Hodge, Emily Eaker, Shilah Eaker, Victoria Eaker, Misty “Fred” Eaker, Addaline Eaker, Mallory Jenkins, and Andrew Jenkins. 

A Graveside Service will be held at 4:00 PM, Friday, June 14, 2024, at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Ken Jones officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:30 to 3:45 PM, prior to the service in the cemetery.
