William Donnie “Don” Dingus, age 85, of Grover, was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on October 23, 2024, at Caromont Regional Medical Center. Don was born February 4, 1939, in Sullivan County, Tennessee, to the late Walter Ballard and Isabelle Collette Dingus. He was a diesel mechanic at Foote Mineral in Kings Mountain for 30 years. He was also an avid fisherman. Don was a member of New Buffalo Baptist Church for 62 years, where he served as a deacon. He loved attending church, his church family, and serving the Lord. Don liked a good joke and enjoyed laughing. He cherished his family more than anything else.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Lena Linkous “Chick” Dingus; children, Sharon Denise Dingus, and David Alan Dingus; and siblings, Mildred Wells, Lou Blackwood, and Jim Dingus.
Don is survived by his loving wife, Ruby Mullinax “Bootsie” Dingus; brother-in-laws, Lawrence Linkous, and Jimmy Lovelace; sister-in-laws, Glenda Dingus, Shirley Story (Clifton), and Judy Bess; stepsons, Dennis Ray Mullinax, Jr., and Ronald Sandy Mullinax; 3 step-grandchildren; 6 step-great-grandsons; nephew, Mike Linkous; and nieces, Lisa Fain (Steve), and Samantha Gibby (Shawn).
Funeral Services will be held 12:00 PM Saturday, October 26, 2024, at New Buffalo Baptist Church, in Grover, with Pastor Adam Green officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 to 11:45 AM, prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow at Grover Cemetery.
