Warren "Buddy" Beam, age 80 of Lincolnton, went to be with Jesus on Friday, March 17, 2017. Born June 7, 1936 in Gaston County, he was the son of the late Henry Bryan and Juanita Wehunt Beam. A graduate of Lenoir Rhyne College, he was a retired school teacher, President of Beam Rest Home, Inc., and a lifelong member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Buddy enjoyed collecting antique tractors and working in his shop, building beautiful furniture. He was a quiet man with a strong faith. His good heart and witty sense of humor will be greatly missed.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Chranson Beam.
Survivors include one son, Warren Whitener Beam and wife, Sandra, and his mother, Judy Whitener Beam; grandchildren, Cassie Hood and husband, Sege and Tyler Beam and wife, Natalie; great grandchildren, Payton, Paxon, and Piper Hood and Finton Beam; and brothers, Bryan Beam and wife, Kay and Sam Beam and wife, Martha. He was a caring and loving father, grandfather, and brother who always made time for his family.
He is also survived by his wife of 32 years, Florence Mullen Beam and her children, John Mark Brooks and Julie Brooks Johnson and husband, David, and their children, Madison, Jordan, Luke, Karson-Faith, and Eli. He was a wonderful second father and grandfather to each of them.
In accordance with his wishes, a private graveside service was held at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery.
