Virginia Eaker

Virginia Belle Hallman Eaker, of Cherryville, died October 20, 2013, at Carolina Care Center in Cherryville. She was born in Gaston County on May 10, 1921, the daughter of the late Daniel Arthur and Donnie Caroline Goins Hallman. She was a member of Concord United Methodist Church and was employed for 37 years at Firestone Mill in Gastonia.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Lloyd Lee Eaker.

Survivors include her son, Forrest L. "Ace" Eaker (Susie) of Belmont; daughter, Sandra Helms (Joe), of Bessemer City; three grandchildren, Debby Seifert (Kent) of Quincy, IL., Allen Wright (Lisa) of Bessemer City, and Jason Eaker (Donna) of Gastonia; and 6 great-grandchildren, Erica Nichols, Kristin Nichols, Lauren Wright, Abby Wright, Lauren Seifert, and Seth Eaker.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 3 PM at Concord United Methodist Church with Rev. Steve Weaver officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends from 1:30-2:45 prior to the service at the church.
