Violet Kiser

Violet Carpenter Kiser, 94, of Carpenter Rd., died Feb. 6, 2014 at Peak Resources, Gastonia. She was born in Lincoln Co. on May 21, 1919, a daughter of the late George Loy and Lucy Bryte Pasour Carpenter.

Mrs. Kiser was a homemaker and lifelong member of Bethel Lutheran Church where she was a former Church Council member, former Sunday School teacher, and the Women's Circle. She enjoyed working in her yard and always had a case of poison ivy in the summertime. She found great pleasure in knitting, crocheting and traveling having been in all fifty states and abroad several times.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husbands Grady Caldwell and Oscar Kiser, and three brothers and a sister.

Survivors include several nieces and nephews and her church family.

Funeral services will be held Sat. at Bethel Lutheran Church at 11 AM with Pastor Steven P. King officiating with burial in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Sat. at the church from 9:30-10:45 AM and at other times at the home of Samantha Carpenter Sawyer, 437 Carpenter Rd., Bessemer City, NC
