Troy Houser

Troy Lee Houser, age 75, of Cherryville, passed away Wednesday, June 1, 2022, at his residence.  He was born April 17, 1947 in Cleveland County to the late Forrest Lee and Alene Lackey Houser.  Troy was a family man and always stayed active and involved in what his children were doing.  He coached with Optimist Football, was a Boy Scout Leader, and assisted with YMCA Indian Guides.  He was also a member of North Brook Baptist Church and Cherryville Lion’s Club.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Doris “Coot” White and Betty Little; and brother-in-law, Terry Yount.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Sandra Bridges Houser; sons, David Houser and wife, Amy, and Todd Houser and wife, Noeme; grandsons, Austin Houser and Chris Hill; sister, Kathy Yount; brothers-in-law, Cletus White and Steve Little; aunts and uncles, Alma McNeely, Matthew Dellinger, Clement Dellinger, and Emily Stephens; nieces and nephew, Traci Yount, Greg Yount, and Susan Fisher; great nieces and great nephews, Garrison Fisher, Madison Wright, Alec Yount, Colin Yount, and Sloane Yount.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 4, 2022 at 12:00 PM at Carpenter-Porter Funeral & Cremation Services with Rev. Dr. Wade Dellinger officiating.  Burial will follow at City Memorial Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Saturday from 11:00 to 11:45 AM prior to the service at the funeral home.
