Tommy Porter

Tommy Joe Porter, age 64, of Cherryville, passed away on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at Levine Dickson Hospice House. Tommy was born July 30, 1959, in Franklin County, to the late Lonnie Alton “Tunney” Porter and Mildred Lee Helms Porter. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Cherryville. Tommy enjoyed fishing and golfing. He also enjoyed singing around the house. He loved food and grilling; he would’ve been content with steak every Sunday.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Vickie Elaine Clawson Porter; and sister, Cathy Brown.

Tommy is survived by his children, Jennifer Porter Snipes (Josh) and Amanda Porter Aldridge (Chris); stepson, Tyler Leonhardt (Cortney Bowker); grandchildren, Emma Snipes and Porter Aldridge; and sister, Sylvia Blackmon.

A Funeral Service will be held at 1:30 PM Thursday, July 25, 2024, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Cherryville with Rev. Michael Collins officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until 1:15 PM, prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow at the City Memorial Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Levine & Dickson Hospice House – 11900 Vanstory Dr, Huntersville, NC 28078.
