Thomas Zeno Laws, 93 of Bud Black Rd. died Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at Robin Johnson Hospice House. He was born on May 12, 1922 in Rutherford County to the late Zeno and Laura Radford Laws. He was a retired supervisor from Dora Mills and a WWII Veteran of the United States Army. Thomas was a great singer, played the guitar, and had a passion for music. He enjoyed the Senior Breakfast Club and spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Virginia Estelle Murray Laws; son, Thomas Gerald Laws; brother, Hobert Laws; and sister, Velma Blanton.
Survivors include his daughters, Peggie Cooper and husband, Walter of Cherryville, Linda Sue Sharma and husband, Ruben of Kings Mountain, and Roxie Laws Farris and husband, Mike of Crouse; seven grandchildren, Angie, Linda Jean, Tina, Donna, Jeffrey, Mendie and Stephanie; nine great grandchildren, Patricia, Michael, David, Nikkoe, J.T., Jacob, Jennifer, Chris and Buddy; and two great great grandchildren, Cullen and Isaac.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 18, 2015 from 3:00 to 5:00 PM at Carpenter's Funeral & Cremation Services.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at 3:00 PM at Bess Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. Bill Taylor and Rev. Randi Godfrey officiating. Burial will be private. Full military honors will be conducted by Cherryville American Legion Post #100 Honor Guard.
