Thomas Beam

Thomas Marion Beam, age 75 of St. Mark's Church Rd, passed away Friday, October 14, 2016 at Caromont Regional Medical Center. He was born on November 14, 1940 in Gaston County to the late Jacob Carl and Mary Royster Beam. Tommy was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church. He graduated from Tryon High School and Nashville Auto-Diesel College. He retired after 28 years from Carolina Freight Carriers. Tommy enjoyed being out in nature gardening, bird watching, and star gazing. He also loved reading and being with his family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Julianna Powell.

Survivors include his loving wife, Geraldine Turner Beam; children, Phillip Eric Beam and wife, Janet, and Lori Beam Ward and husband, Todd; sister, Jane Nichols; and grandchildren, Jacob Ward, Ethan Ward, and Gus Beam.

Funeral services will be held Monday, October 17, 2016 at 3:00 PM at St. Mark's Lutheran Church with Rev. Jonathan Gantt and Rev. Scott Homesley officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday from 1:30 to 2:30 PM prior to the service at the church.
