Terry Slaughter

Teresa Lail "Terry" Slaughter, age 70 of Pine St. passed away Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at Carolina Healthcare System - Cleveland. She was born February 20, 1948 in Gaston County to the late Cletus Sylvester and Leona Mae Reynolds Lail. Terry was a member of First Wesleyan Church. She loved flowers, adult coloring books, and watching soap operas. She enjoyed watching NASCAR and was an avid Jeff Gordan fan. "Mama Terry" as she was known to many, was an excellent homemaker and a caregiver to numerous family members.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Cramer "Buddy" Slaughter; and siblings, Roy Lail, Shirley Brittain, Mary Mauldin, Annie Rash, and Faye Kirkpatrick.

Survivors include her daughters, Renee McNeilly and husband, Clint of Shelby and Amy Slaughter of Cherryville; grandson, Casey McNeilly and wife, Kimberly; great granddaughter, Elisa Renee McNeilly; brothers, Jr. Lail and wife, Carolyn of Cherryville and Bruce Lail and wife, Karen of Lincolnton; and sister, Peggy Owens of High Point.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, October 21, 2018 at 2:00 PM at First Wesleyan Church with Pastor Mark B. Poe officiating. Burial will follow at City Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:00 to 1:45 PM prior to the service at the church.
