Terry Johnson

Terry Wren Johnson, age 65, of Cherryville, formerly of Mayville, MI, passed away Monday, June 25, 2018 from complications with his fight against cancer. Terry was born December 27, 1952 in Ingham County, Michigan. He was employed with General Motors for 25 years. After his retirement, he went into truck driving for several years. He and his wife moved to Cherryville, NC where he then went to work at Advanced Auto in Shelby, NC where he retired as assistant manager. Terry had a passion for riding motorcycles and working on muscle cars. He enjoyed camping and landscaping. His greatest pleasure came from spending time with his family and always speaking his mind.

Terry was preceded in death by his Ma and Pa Garner and his father, Austin Eugene Johnson.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Shelia Johnson; daughter, Stephanie and son-in-law, Brian Sandlin of Monrovia, IN; step-daughter, Ronda Kotowski of Flint, MI; four grandchildren, Shelby, Sara, David, and Raelynn and one on the way; and four great grandchildren.

Private services will be held at a later date.
