Teresa Henley

Teresa Abernathy Henley, 58, of Cherryville., died August 1, 2021 at Atrium Health-Main in Charlotte. She was born in Lincoln County on March 31, 1963 a daughter of Patricia Smith Abernathy of Lincolnton and the late Jack McCraven Abernathy.  Teresa was a graduate of Appalachian State University and was a leader of young minds at Cherryville High School where she proudly served for 21 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and enjoyed watching her daughters play softball and volleyball. She enjoyed sitting on the beach after 4 PM with her husband A.J.

In addition to her mother she is survived by her husband of  29 years A. J. Henley, daughters Bayleigh Henley (Wesley Stroupe) and Brooke Henley (Austin Hill) two sisters Jackie Chapman(Scott) and Cyndi Noles (Mark), mother-in-law Jean Beal Henley, and her grand-dogs Boone and Strider.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 7, 2021 at Noon at First Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Heffner and Rev. Mike Devine, and Rev. Dr. Vince Hefner officiating. Pallbearers: Bobby Dale Reynolds, Chuck Dellinger. Troy Narron Scott Chapman, Scott Beam, Mark Noles, Scott Harrill, Greg Pound, Jeff Williams, Tim Henley, and Clay Henley.

Burial will follow at the City Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 10:00am-11:45am at the church and other times at the home.
