Sue Beam

Sue Hendricks Beam, 95, of Dameron Rd., died April 20, 2022, in Commerce, GA. She was born September 27, 1926, in Gaston County to the late Furman S. and Julia Wilson Hendricks.

Mrs. Beam was a homemaker and dedicated member of Mt. Beulah Baptist Church since 1955. She taught the Women’s Sunday School class for 45 years and served as assistant Treasurer of the church.  Sue was also a member of the WMU, and a proud graduate of Cherryville High School class of 1943. She was known as the family caregiver.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William E. Beam; and brother, Clayton S. Hendricks.

Survivors include her daughter, Lib Rumfelt and husband, Randy of Nicholson, GA; grandsons, Wesley Rumfelt (Cathy) of Athens, GA, and Will Rumfelt of Decatur, GA; and two great-grandchildren, Jack and Ollie Rumfelt.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 24, 2022, at 3:00 PM at Mt. Beulah Baptist Church with Pastor Doug Nab officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2:00 to 2:45 PM in the church fellowship hall.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
