Stowe Alexander “Stumpy” Hoyle, age 63 of Knottywood Lane passed away Thursday, December 3, 2020 at Wendover Hospice House. He was born May 29, 1957 in Lincoln County to the late Junior Hoyle and Peggy Jean Roberts Black. He loved animals and enjoyed helping raise and care for them. Stumpy enjoyed going on vacation with his family and especially loved trips to the mountains.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of nearly 47 years, Connie Patsy Abernathy Hoyle who passed away earlier this year; granddaughter, Gracie Shyann Hoyle; and sister, Joann Lynch.
Survivors include his children, Luke Hoyle, Jacob Hoyle, Peggy Hoyle, and Kathy Hullender and husband, Chad; grandchildren, Becky, Ashley, Elizabeth, Brittany, and Madison Hoyle; great grandchildren, Olivia, Isaac, and Kelsey Thompson and Isabella Harrison; stepfather, James Ray Black; siblings, Wayne Hoyle, Pat Drewery, and Jean Hester; and mother-in-law, Emmie Abernathy.
Mr. Hoyle will lie-in-state on Sunday, December 6, 2020 from 1:00 to 1:45 PM at Carpenter-Porter Funeral & Cremation Services. COVID19 Regulations will be observed during services. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM with Rev. Jaie Warlick officiating. Burial will be at Hester Family Cemetery.
