Stephen Gavrell

Stephen Joseph Gavrell, age 75 of Cherryville, North Carolina, formerly of Vero Beach, Florida, Landisville, New Jersey, and Yonkers, New York, passed away Wednesday, December 7, 2022, at Atrium Health Cleveland.  He was born February 28, 1947 in Yonkers, New York to the late James and Julia Guzzo Gavrell.  Stephen was a Vietnam Veteran of the United States Army and member of the Shelby American Legion Post #82.  He did years of construction and home remodeling until he went to work for the State of New Jersey as a JJC Substance Abuse Counselor.  He was a 37-year member of AA.  Stephen enjoyed fishing and diamond mining.  He was also into Harleys and motorcycles.  Stephen was talented with carpentry work and artwork.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Peter Gavrell; and brother, Phillip Gavrell.

Survivors include his wife, Carol Gavrell; children, Paul Gavrell and wife, Mei, Patricia Jackson, Stephanie Tronco and husband, Daniel, Krista Izzo and wife, Deborah, and Silvio Marcacci and wife, Kiley Kroh; brother, John Gavrell; grandchildren, Emily, Megan, Kylie, Joseph, Zachary, Kaitlin, Haley, Peter, Helena, Daniel, Henry, Nico, Luca, Rhiannon, and Chrissy; great grandchildren, Samaira and Chase; and his “Kids,” Tug and Tootsie.
