Sheryl Beckley

November 6, 1951 — December 11, 2014

Sheryl Lynne Beckley was born on November 6, 1951 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to loving parents LonDeana and Robert H. Beckley, Sr.

Sheryl received her formal education at Rufus King High School and furthered her education attending University of Wisconsin in Milwaukee.

In 1991, she followed her heart and relocated to the Central Coast of California where she established residency in Lompoc. In Lompoc, Sheryl worked in adult protective services for Santa Barbara County. In 2006, she retired from a 30 year career in social services and relocated to Cherryville, North Carolina where she would spend her final years. After retirement, Sheryl chose to continue being of service and found herself working at Walmart for the past seven years where she was known for her kindness and sense of humor.

Sheryl's greatest joy in life was her son, Ian. She was consummate mother and was delighted to become a mother in law and most recently, a grandmother.

Sheryl was an adventurous spirit who loved life and was known for her impeccable taste, contagious smile and infectious laugh. Shoe lover, shopper extraordinaire, natural born chef, humanitarian, world class citizen, and wise beyond her years are only a few terms used to describe our beautiful Sheryl. She had the ability to comfort anyone who crossed her path. Friends and family alike would often seek council in Sheryl; this is a testament of her intuitive knowing of what to do in any situation and her generosity of heart.

Sheryl Lynne Beckley departed this world on Thursday, December 11, 2014. She leaves to cherish her memory, mother and best friend, LonDeana Beckley of Cherryville, and father, Robert H. Beckley, and stepmother, Pearl of Milwaukee; son: Ian Beckley and wife Heather Niblack of Lompoc; grandsons: Felix and Rowan (due February 2015); co-mother in law, Ann Niblack of Lincolnton, North Carolina; six siblings: Yvette (Marvin) Williams of Milwaukee; Vanessa (Antonio) Franklin of Raleigh; Tonya (Wayne) McCoy of Milwaukee; Rhonda Dean of Raleigh; Bruce (Susette) Beckley of Milwaukee; and Robert Beckley, Jr. of Aurora, Illinois; foster-uncle: Raymond Washington of Milwaukee; and foster-sister: Victoria Shaw of Milwaukee and nieces: Jayna Whitehorn of Milwaukee; Kimberly (Steve) Bonds of Milwaukee; Toria Shaw of Chicago, Illinois; and Tai (Antoine) Shavies of Milwaukee.

Sheryl also leaves behind many other loving relatives and dear friends. Our cherished Sheryl Lynne will forever remain in our hearts; gone but never forgotten.

This, too, shall pass,
And that will go:
The autumn leaves will cover grass,
And then, get covered with snow.
The sun will disappear in clouds,
The clouds precipitate the rain;
And everything will go in rounds:
But life does not occur in vain.

Acknowledgement
The Beckley family wish to express sincere and profound gratitude to everyone for each act of kindness and sympathy rendered during our bereavement. Whatever you have said or done, we will be eternally and humbly grateful.
