Sherrie Jones Thompson

Our loving mother has gone home but she will always be in our hearts. Sherrie Ann Jones Thompson, who loved to be called "Momma" by her kids, departed her loving family on May the 4th of 2024. Sherrie was born March 25, 1961, to Marcella Walker Jones & Jonas D Jones. Sherrie was mother to Brandon & Tiffany. She was also a grandma to Levi. She raised her children with love and devotion in Lincolnton, NC.

Sherrie spent much of her life working as an in-home nurse and then became disabled. She loved to dance and listen to music. Her favorite color was purple. She also enjoyed taking rides through the countryside. She loved flowers and her garden with fresh veggies. She loved spending time with her grandson. 

She was preceded in death by her sisters, Mary Jane Patterson and Francis Jones.

She is survived by her son Brandon Powell of Charlotte NC, her daughter Tiffany Powell of Tennessee, her grandson Levi Powell of Charlotte. Aside from the children she doted on, Sherrie is survived by Danny Cheshire of Lincolnton who was her significant other, her brother Jonas Jones (JD) from Charlotte, her nieces Cindy Hoyle, Lori Benfield, and Marsha Dawson, and nephew Wendell Poole.

She will be cremated on Tuesday May the 14th with Carpenters Funeral Home of Cherryville.
