Sarah Rhyne

Sarah Frances Boyles Rhyne, age 82 of Lincolnton, passed away Sunday, February 19, 2017 at Carolina Care Health & Rehabilitation. She was born October 18, 1934 in Gaston County to the late Francis Oscar and Minnie Elizabeth Mosteller Boyles. Frances was a member of Long Shoals Baptist Church. She enjoyed crafting, drawing and painting. She was an excellent cook and homemaker.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Joseph Rhyne; son, Michael Joseph Rhyne; and a sister, Marcella Cook.

Survivors include her children, Sara Tallent (Louie) of Cherryville, Sheila Johnson (Ray) of Vale, Gregory Rhyne (Donna) of Lincolnton, Selina Stone (John) of Cherryville, Stephanie Rodriguez (Raul) of Cherryville, and Ginger Cruse of Flint, TX; brothers, Louis Boyles (Pat) of Lincolnton and Tommy Boyles (Jeanette) of Emerald Isle; thirteen grandchildren, Angie, Larry, Savanna, Clayton, Teddy, Dwight, Amanda, Laurie, Chris, Bradley, Matt, Will, and Emily; eighteen great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Carpenter-Porter Funeral & Cremation Services with Rev. Dr. Dennis Bean officiating. Burial will follow at Pisgah United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Carpenter-Porter Funeral & Cremation Services and other times at the home of Sara and Louie Tallent, 1277 Shelby Hwy Cherryville.
