Ruth Beam

Ruth Simpson Beam, age 76, of Tot Dellinger Road, died March 2, 2013 at Carolina Medical Center, Charlotte. Ruth was born in Gaston County on December 13, 1936 a daughter of the late Webb Simpson, Jr. and Nettie Banner Griffith Simpson. She was retired from White Oak Manor in Shelby and was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Pratt Beam, a brother Ray Simpson and a sister Dorothy Simpson.

Survivors include three daughters, Jody Beam Browne of Cherryville, Kenny Mosteller (Tracy) of Cherryville Wendy Gilbert (Garland) of Lincolnton, five grandchildren; Jason Browne, Blair Browne, Blake Mosteller, Alston Mosteller, Gaston Gilbert, a sister Christine Wilson of Gastonia.

Funeral services will be held at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at 3:00 PM with Rev. Wayne Key and Rev. Jerry Lail, Rev. Ken Gibson, officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends March 4, 2013 at Carpenter's Funeral and Cremation Services from 6:00 - 8:00 PM.
