Ruby Anthony

Ruby Nell Simmons Anthony, age 72 of River Hill Trail, passed away Tuesday, April 16, 2019 at Atrium Health Lincolnton. She was born March 27, 1947 in Catawba County to the late Clyde Emory and Beulah Lutz Simmons. Ruby was retired as Deputy Clerk of Court with Lincoln and Catawba Counties.  She was a faithful member of Salem Lutheran Church where she was always active in anything going on at the church.  Ruby also enjoyed watching tv with her family and traveling, whether it be to the beach or the mountains.  She was an amazing mother, mother-in-law, and grandmother to her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bryon Lee “Nick” Anthony; brother, Joe Emory Simmons; sister, Dorothy Mae Simmons; and sister-in-law, Bonnie Simmons.

Left to cherish her memory are her sons; Woodie Anthony and wife, Lisa, and Travis Anthony and wife, Rachel all of Lincolnton; three granddaughters, Alayna, Alycia, and Alexis Anthony; brother, Claude Pinkney Simmons of Newton; and her grandpuppy, Rosaleigh.

Ruby’s family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Friday April 19, 2019 at Carpenter-Porter Funeral & Cremation Services.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM, Saturday April 20, 2019 at Salem Lutheran Church with Pastor Dale Pederson officiating.  Burial will follow at Cherryville City Memorial Cemetery.
