Ronald Austin

Ronald Gene Austin, 66, of Mary's Grove Rd., died December 14, 2018 at his residence. He was born January 31, 1952 in Gaston County, a son of Ruth Huffstickler Austin of Gastonia and the late James B. Austin. Ronnie was an electrician and a commercial tuna fisherman. He was a member of the Gastonia Men's Club and an avid angler.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his children, Alicia Joy Austin of St. Petersburg, FL, Roni Brea Gouge of York, SC, Brian Gene Austin of Gastonia, and James Glenn Austin of Beaufort, SC; a brother Jim Austin (Debbie) of Cherryville, and four grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Monday at 11:00 AM at Union Road Baptist Church with his son, Pastor Brian Austin officiating. Burial will be private.
