Robert Farmer

Robert V. Farmer, 92, formerly of Watson Road in Bessemer City, passed away January 12, 2018. He was born January 24, 1925 in Greenville County, SC, a son of the late Joel Grover and Ethel Campbell Farmer. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Cherryville, North Carolina.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at St. John's Lutheran Church, 310 West Church Street, Cherryville, NC with Rev. Ben Kifer officiating.

The Family will receive friends Tuesday, January 16, 2018 from 1:30 until 2:45 PM at St. John's Saint's Hall prior to the funeral service. Interment will be at West View Gardens, 1123 Edgewood Road, Bessemer City, NC.

Mr. Farmer was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Farmer; sons, Don Farmer and wife, Pam; Kent Farmer and wife, Renee; grandchildren, Rev. Angela Farmer, Mark Farmer and wife, Bethany; Melissa Jenkins and husband, Nelson; Ryan Farmer and wife, Chesney; great-grandchildren, McKenzie Farmer, Matthew Jackson and wife, Hannah, Hannah Jackson, Riley Farmer, Keegan Jenkins, Cooper Jenkins, Hallie Jackson, Olivia Jenkins, Ethan Farmer and Naomi Jenkins; brother, Ray Farmer and sister, Gladys Holland.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Pearl Farmer and brothers, Johnnie Farmer, P.D. Farmer, Clyde Farmer and Dewey Farmer.

Mr. Farmer was a veteran of World War II and was a devoted Mason. He retired from American & Efird Mills after 35 years of service.
