Ralph Junior Foster, age 92, of Black Road, passed away Sunday, September 18, 2022 at Caromont Regional Medical Center. He was born August 26, 1930 in Gaston County to the late William Franklin and Novella Short Foster.
Ralph was a long-time member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Two of his favorite hobbies were gardening and crappie fishing.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathryn McSwain Foster; son, Alan Foster; sister, Joyce Mann; and son-in-law, Dale Hoyle.
Survivors include his daughters, Loretta Hoyle of Cherryville, Charlotte Fleenor (Joe) of Denver, and Patience Huffman (Timothy) of Blacksburg; daughter-in-law, Teresa Foster; sisters, Margaret Patterson, Sue Cochran, Faye Robinson, Shirley McSwain, and Deborah Duetsch; granddaughters, Chelsy Hoyle, Mindy Foster, Delana Ferguson (Alex), Makenzie Huffman, and Cheyenne Huffman; great-grandchildren, Ethan and Ansley Ferguson.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at Carpenter-Porter Funeral and Cremation Services
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, September 22, 2022 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Keith Huss officiating.
Mr. Foster requested that memorials may be made the Mt. Zion Baptist Church cemetery fund, 112 Mt Zion Church Rd, Cherryville, NC 28021.
