Pete Mull

August 29, 1924 — November 17, 2014

James "Pete" Blair Mull Sr., age 90 of Ramsey St., died Monday, November 17, 2014 at Carolina Care Center. He was born on August 29, 1924 in Gaston County to the late Donald Gude and Edna Kincaid Mull. Pete was a veteran of the United States Navy. He was a member of First Baptist Church where he was a former deacon, involved in the youth group, Red Cross Disaster Team, and RA's. Church was very important to him. He was also involved with Habitat for Humanity, was a member of Cherryville American Legion Post #100 and a member of Cherryville Masonic Lodge #505 A.F. & A.M. Pete was a man of faith and a jack of all trades.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Patsy "Pat" Ruth Beam Mull; and a grandson, Blair Jackson Mull.

Survivors include his sons, James "Butch" Mull Jr. (Claudia) of Nashville, NC, Donny Mull (Jerita) of Fort Mill, SC, and Rodney Mull (Denise) of Cherryville, NC; grandchildren, Austin and Connor Mull, Lisa Eatmon, Eric Mull, Ryan Mull, Brandon Moss, Cameron Norvell, and Chris Dawes; great-grandchildren, Taylor, Cambree, Brittany, Justin, Blaine, Landon, and Ryan; one great-great grandchild; and special friends, Melvin Fraley, David Kiser, and Paul Sigmon.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 21, 2014 at 3:00 PM at First Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Vince Hefner officiating. Burial will follow at City Memorial Cemetery with military honors conducted by American Legion Post #100. The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 20, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Carpenter's Funeral & Cremation Services and at other times at the home of Rodney and Denise, 205 Ramsey St.

The family would like to express a deep appreciation to the staff of Carolina Care Center for their love and care shown to Pete during his time as a resident
