Peggy Beam

November 28, 1935 — February 17, 2015

Peggy Jean Carpenter Beam, age 79, of Weaver Street, died February 17, 2015 at her residence. Peggy was born in Gaston County on November 28, 1935 a daughter of the late Fred and Edna Huss Carpenter. She was retired from Beam's Rest Home, former owner of Go In Style Beauty Salon and a member of First Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Chranson Beam, three sisters, Pat Parker Mauney, Jo Owens and Linda Mauney and a brother, Jack Carpenter.

Survivors include a daughter, Dawn Mauney and husband Mark of Cherryville, a son, C. Todd Beam and wife Lonnia of Cherryville, three grandchildren, Matthew Beam and wife Kathryn of Kannapolis, Joshua Mauney and Drew Mauney both of Cherryville, a brother, Jerry "Buck" Carpenter of Cherryville, and numerous nieces and nephews..

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday Feb. 21, 2015 at 2 PM at St. John's Lutheran Church with Dr. Eric Childers officiating with burial to follow at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sat. in the Vida Dellinger Parlor of the church from 12:30-1:45 and at other times at their respective homes.
