Paul Towery

Paul Richard Towery, age 74, of Hickory Lane, passed away Friday, November 27, 2020 at Caromont Regional Medical Center. He was born on January 5, 1946 in Gaston County to the late Ralph and Ethel Swink Towery.

Paul enjoyed watching Westerns, especially Gunsmoke.  He was an avid Carolina Panthers fan and known for being a practical joker. He found great pleasure in fishing and being with his family. Mr. Towery had a wonderful sense of humor, loved to make others laugh with his quick-witted comebacks, and was always in service to others.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Seth Parker Towery; sister, Shirley Millwood; granddaughter, Rilynn Towery; grandmother, Neelie McZilkey; and his companion, “Baby.”

Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Lynn Ann Parker Towery; son, Richard Towery of Charlotte, daughter, Jennifer Towery (and granddog Lula Mae) of Lake Wylie; fourth child, Billy Lewis of Milledgeville, GA.; brother, Jim Towery of Concord; grandchildren, Nikolas, J. R., Logan, and Jenna Towery; and mother-in-law, Bonnie Parker.

A private memorial service will be held Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at Carpenter-Porter Funeral and Cremation Services. A guest register will be available from 12:00 to 1:45pm prior to the service at the funeral home. Due to COVID-19 restrictions face coverings and social distancing will be observed.

Burial will be private.
