Nona Franklin

Nona Irene Melton Franklin, age 69 of W. Academy St. passed away Monday, September 25, 2017 at her residence. She was born November 22, 1947 in Anson County to the late John Frank and Marguerite Irene Scarboro Melton. Nona was very talented with ceramics and crafting home décor items. She also enjoyed antique furniture.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Franklin Melton.

Survivors include her husband of 19 years, Wade Marion Franklin; children, Chantelle and Michael Hogan of Charlotte, Ray and Theresa Gulledge of Salisbury, and Ramona Westberry of Cherryville; stepson, Daniel and Mary Catherine Franklin of Cramerton; sisters, Barbara and Randy Stewart of Crouse and Margaret Helen Stillwell of Pageland, SC; grandchildren, Madison and David Howard, Meagan Loftin, Landon and Courtney Locklear, Kaitlin Gulledge, Alexandra Gulledge, Samuel Gulledge, Elijah Gulledge, Mary Grace Gulledge, Kendal and Cheyanne Westberry, Blake Westberry, Rachel Westberry, Jessica Franklin, Alayna Franklin, and Sailor Franklin; and great grandchildren, Jackson Howard, Dakota Meeks, Laila Meeks and Torri Lindsay.

Funeral services will be held Friday, September 29, 2017 at 4:00 PM at Carpenter-Porter Funeral & Cremation Services with Pastor Dennis L. Bean officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends on Friday from 2:00 to 3:45 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
