Noah Mauney

Noah Lee "Pete" Mauney, 84 of Moose St., died October 6, 2013 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center.
He was born on January 15, 1929 in Gaston Co., a son of the late Noah Matthew and Bessie Mauney Mauney.

Pete was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church, member of Cherryville Masonic Lodge #505 A.F. & A.M., retired long line driver 30 years with Carolina Freight Carriers and 5 years with Aker Motor Lines, and 19 years with Pet Heaven Cemetery. He was a big fan of Bluegrass music, Nascar Racing, and loved his family dearly.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by two brothers Jim and John Mauney.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years Doris Smith Mauney, his adored children Mark "Moose" Mauney(Dawn). Cherryville, Barbara McDaniel, Cherryville, Ann Davis(Jeff), Cherryville and Dan Mauney, Charlotte, six grandchildren Nick Davis, Josh Mauney, Kristen McDaniel, Jacob Davis, Justin McDaniel and Drew Mauney, sister Margie Homesley Cherryville, brothers Frank and Bill Mauney(Jane), Cherryville, and Tom Mauney(Evelyn) Shelby, and numerous nieces nephews.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 PM at Shady Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Keith Hollar, Dr. Eric Childers, and Rev. Leonard Bumgardner, officiating with burial in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday at Carpenter's Funeral and Cremation Services from 5-8 PM and at other times at the home.
