Nell Proctor Anthony, 89, of Cherryville, died September 15, 2015 at Brian Center in Lincolnton. She was born on March 24, 1926 in Cleveland Co., a daughter of the late George Pinkney and Nannie Runyans Proctor. Mrs. Anthony was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church, Cherryville, and retired from Howell Manufacturing and Keystone Carbon. Nell was an avid antique collector, especially china and glassware. She and her husband, Ralph, always welcomed visitors into their home and enjoyed sharing stories about the days gone by. She and Ralph could be seen riding around town in one of their collector antique cars. Nell touched many lives with her compassion, wit and entertaining personality. She was a true inspiration to all who knew her.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Ralph Lee Anthony, brothers Summie, Hugh, Tracy, Hazel and George Proctor, Jr. and sisters Mable Cash, Emma Cannon, and Peggy Proctor.
Survivors include her daughter; Teresa Anthony of Cross Hill, SC. Grandchildren; Jason Anthony Willis, Justin Lee Willis and wife Melissa, both of Cherryville, and great grandchildren; Alexanndria Willis and Kristin Currie, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Friday at noon at Carpenter's Funeral and Cremation Services with Dr. Vince Hefner officiating with burial in City Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday at the funeral home from 11-11:45 AM.
