Michael Pittillo

Michael “Mike” Leroy Pittillo, age 68, of Mauney Road, passed away Wednesday, September 15, 2021. He was born August 23, 1953, in Burke County to the late Hoyt Lee Pittillo and the late Essie Jean Lee Pittillo-Clay.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Sam Pittillo, and a niece, Jessica Pittillo.

Mike was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp. He enjoyed studying his Bible and volunteered at Jesus Servant Ministries of Cherryville. Mike was a Jack-of-all-trades and could fix anything. He also enjoyed helping people. If someone needed anything, he would help them. He definitely had a servant’s heart.

Survivors include his brother, Steve Pittillo and wife Robyn; stepmother, Jean Pittillo; nephew, Chuck Pitillo; and niece, Samantha Davis.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at Carpenter-Porter Funeral and Cremation Services with Rev. Randy Heffner officiating.

The family will greet friends immediately following the service at the funeral home.

He will be buried at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain, NC at a later date.
