Michael Baker

Michael Paul Baker, 10, of Deerwood Trail, died along with his mother, Belinda Baker, on August 8, 2022 from injuries of a car accident.

He was born on December 10, 2011 in Catawba County a son of Glenn Edward Baker and the late Belinda May Shrewsbury Baker. He was a fourth-grade student at Union Elementary School.  He was all boy. His favorite things were fishing with his parents, playing in the creek behind his home, riding four wheelers, fixing things, playing with his nieces and nephews, Tik-Tok, and playing video games.

In addition to his mom, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Paul Shrewsbury, Linda Light Vandall, and Lewis Baker.

He is survived by his father, Eddie Baker; siblings, Amberly Nicole Baker (Adam Burgin), Jessica Grace Baker (Doug Reyburn) and Edward Lewis Baker (Alexis); nieces and nephews, Spencer Elijah Swink, Braedon Lane Houser, Allison Nicole Baker, Skyler Marie Baker, Logan Seth Baker, and Landon Burgin; his best friend, Ayden Jackson; grandfather, Leland Vandall; and grandmother, Doris Faye Baker.

Graveside services will be held for him and his mother on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at Forest Lawn Cemetery at 11:00 AM with Rev. Alan Wheeler officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday at
Carpenter-Porter Funeral and Cremation Services from 9:30-10:00 AM.
