Maxine Daves

Maxine Stroup Daves, age 81, of Cherryville, passed away Wednesday, November 20, 2019.  She was born August 22, 1938 in Gaston County to the late Lloyd and Alma Houser Stroup.  She graduated from Cherryville High School and had one sister, Frances Stroup.  Maxine was a member of Second Baptist Church where she was enjoyed decorating and was a former youth leader.  She loved to make flower arrangements and was an excellent cook.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Dean Daves; and son, Chad Daves.

Survivors include her daughter, Crystal Hammack and husband, Mike; grandchildren, Kristina and Michael Hammack; and stepchildren, Robert Dean Daves, Randy Daves, and Lynn Scarlett.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, November 23, 2019 at 12:00 PM at Second Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Lail officiating.  Burial will be private.  The family will receive friends on Saturday from 10:30 to 11:45 AM prior to the service in the fellowship hall of the church.
