Max Eaker, Sr.

August 22, 1929 — August 30, 2013

Max Dean Eaker, Sr., age 84, of Cherryville died August 30, 2013 at Peak Resources. Max was born August 22, 1929 in Lincoln County, a son of the late Doras Grady and Bertha Willis Eaker. He was retired from Carolina Freight Carriers and was a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church. Max was a U.S. Air Force MP and Korean War Veteran.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Ann Carpenter Eaker in 2012, two brothers, Bill Eaker and Glenn Eaker and one sister, Hilda Parker.

Survivors include a daughter, Susan Daniels (Dave) of Matthews, five sons, Max Eaker, Jr. of Lawndale, Michael Eaker (Linda), Gary Eaker, Tim Eaker, and Roger Eaker all of Cherryville, one step-granddaughter, Dana Roark, of Mountain City, TN., four great-grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

Funeral services will be held at Bethlehem United Methodist Church, September 3, 2013 at 4:00 PM with Rev. Roy Byers officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:30 - 3:45 PM prior to the service.
