Mary Bratton

Mary Leona Bratton, age 65, of Sigmon Street died March 27, 2014 at the home of her daughter in Lincolnton. Mary was born October 16, 1948 in York County, SC a daughter of the late James and Frances Dover Wray. She was a spunky red head, a great momma who loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and loved to collect salt and pepper shakers.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Frances Dyer, two brothers, Eddie Wray and James Wray.

Survivors include a son David Bratton, of Cherryville and three daughters, Tammy Brittain of Lincolnton, Frances Shull of Cherryville, and Krista Lynn Buff of Cherryville, three grandchildren, Summer Brittain, Wesley Brittain and Spring Brittain, three great grandchildren, Hunter, Morgan and Zaylee. a brother Perry Wray of Texas and four sisters, Lula Ferguson of Indianapolis Dot McQueen of Cherryville, Jimmie Jo Blanton, of Shelby, and Catherine Willis of Cherryville.

Funeral Services will be held in the Chapel of Carpenter's Funeral and Cremation Services on Sunday March 30, 2014 at 7:30 PM with Rev. Leonard Bumgardner officiating. Burial will be at a later date. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 7:15 PM prior to the service.
