Marvin Smith

Marvin Smith, age 70, of North Dr. died Monday, January 11, 2016 at Carolinas Healthcare Cleveland. He was born September 1, 1945 in Rutherford County to the late James Wesley Smith and Agnes Frady Smith Bolick. Marvin enjoyed watching Ric Flair and professional wrestling, trips to the mountains and working on his grandfather's farm.

In addition to his parents, he was proceeded in death by a brother, Gary Bolick.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Norma Jean Brittain Smith; sons, Marty Jim Smith and Namon Wesley Smith and wife, Brandy of Cherryville; brother, James Bolick of Maiden; grandchild, Hilan Wesley Smith and numerous other relatives.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, January 14, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Carpenter's Funeral & Cremation Services with Rev. Bobby Holtsclaw officiating. Burial will follow at City Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 13 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at the funeral home and other times at the home.
