Marvin Pearson

Marvin Eugene Pearson, age 85, of Gastonia, passed away peacefully Thursday, September 24, 2020 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center. He was born August 17, 1935 in Cleveland County to the late Jasper and Ollie Moore Pearson.

Mr. Pearson was a member of Spencer Mountain Baptist Church where he was a former Deacon. He was a retired machinist from Gaston County Dyeing Machine and a charter member and former Asst Chief of Ranlo Fire and Rescue.  He found great pleasure in front porch “settin”.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sons, Dale Pearson, and John Pearson and three brothers Shelton, C.E. and Carl Pearson.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years Nancy Rabb Pearson, daughters, Denise Ratchford (Mike), and Dawn Hunt (Tim);two daughter in laws Billie and Susan Pearson, brothers Lemuel and Dufaye Pearson; Sisters Edith Battle, Juanita Watkins and, Matilda Wolfe: grandchildren Chris Pearson(Jodie),Heather Pearson(Chad), Brian Pearson(Stephanie), Taylor Pearson(Josh), Tara Pearson, Kendall Hunt, Pearson Hunt, Miranda Davenport, Eric Raines, Matthew Khamsanhlong(Chrissy), Michael Raines(Alexis) and Andrew Raines(Courtney), and Zoey Pearson; great-grandchildren Aden, Arianna, Khloe, Kaisen, Hunter, Timmy, Nathan, and two on the way.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm Monday September 28, 2020 at Spencer Mountain Baptist Church with Rev. William Calvert and Rev. Conley Matlock officiating.

Mr. Pearson will Lie In State from 11:30 AM to 12:45 prior to the service at the church.

Interment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park.
