Martha Mccarter

August 16, 1933 — July 21, 2014

Martha Etta Carroll Allen McCarter, age 80, of First Street, died Monday, July 21, 2014 at her residence. She was born on August 16, 1933 in Gaston County to the late Lee Wright and Emma Eves Carroll. She was formerly the owner of AM Video Store.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Miles "Bud" Allen, Jr.; second husband, Doris Albert McCarter; son, Kenny Dale Allen; and a brother, Jerry Carroll.

Survivors include her sons, Mike Allen and wife, Teresa of Cherryville, and Roy Ronnie Allen and wife, Rise of Cherryville; sister, Diane Taylor of Cherryville; grandchildren, Mark Allen and wife, Jennifer of Vale, Tamara Allen of Dallas, Derek Allen and wife, Lena of Lincolnton, Jason Allen of Cherryville, and Hannah Allen Choate of Cherryville; and great-grandchildren, Carson Allen, Madeline Allen, Raegan Allen, Brennan May, Addison Choate, Olivia Allen, and Sawyer Allen.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Carpenter's Funeral & Cremation Services with Rev. Mark B. Poe officiating. Burial will follow at City Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 1:00 to 1:45 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
