Mark Samuel Rikard

Mark Samuel Rikard, age 63, of Cherryville and Lincoln County, passed away Thursday, June 6, 2024, at Frye Regional Medical Center. Mark was born on December 7, 1960, in Lincoln County, to the late Douglas Samuel and Loretta Lou Nash Rikard. He was a member of Cherryville Church of God. Mark loved gardening and woodworking, specifically making canes. He enjoyed singing and was part of the Rikard Family Gospel Singing Group with his wife and sisters. He was a fixer for twenty years and worked at Carolina Mills. Mark loved his wife, children, and grandbabies more than anything.

In addition to his parents, Mark was preceded in death by his sisters, Phyllis Nguyen, Erekia McMahan, and Anita Bensley; and brother, Dremonda “PeeWee” Rikard.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, of 24 years, Jacqueline “Jacky” Renee Lynd Rikard; daughter, Michele Rikard; stepchildren, Kenneth Maynard (Tracey), and Kimberly Oliver; sister, Brenda P. Sanford (Phillip); and grandchildren, Aurora Milstead, Zaelin Maynard, Zoey Maynard, Zevah Roche, and Grant Maynard.

A Memorial Service will be held Monday, June 10, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Cherryville Church of God with Bishop Edward Mullaly, Jr. officiating.  Burial will be private.  The family will greet friends immediately following the service in the church.
