Lucy Seagle

Lucy Marie James Seagle, age 68 of Mary's Grove Rd. passed away Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte. She was born October 8, 1949 in Wilkes County to the late Robert Westley and Elsie Mae Adams James. Lucy graduated from Appalachian State University and went into Social Work where she worked with Gaston County Social Services for 25 years. She enjoyed collecting dolls and was active with the Cherryville Senior Citizens.

Survivors include her husband of 46 years, John Franklin Seagle; daughter, Angela Seagle and Cameron McClester of Mt. Pleasant, NC; granddaughter, Josie McClester; siblings, Dale James and Gale James, both of North Wilkesboro; specials nieces and nephews, Linda Matthews Garrett, Michael Matthews, and Barbara Matthews Zalonis and numerous others.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, December 31, 2017 at 2:30 PM at Carpenter-Porter Funeral & Cremation Services with Rev. Dale Hendricks officiating. Burial will follow at Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:30 to 2:15 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
