Louise Barrett

Louise Head Barrett, age 78 of Waco, passed peacefully surrounded by her loving family, into her Heavenly Home on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at Atrium Health Charlotte.  She was born June 11, 1943 in Rutherford County, to the late Albert John and Nellie Ledbetter Head.  She was a lifelong member of Waco Baptist Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir.  Louise was a retired LPN from Carolina Care.   She and her mother owned and operated “What About Crafts” craft store in Waco. Mrs. Barrett was a well loved and respected member of the Waco Community.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John E. Barrett, Sr.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Tina and Ray Sturgill of Shelby; son, John E. “Butch” Barrett, Jr. of Waco; grandchildren, Daniel Sturgill and wife, Emily, and Ashley Sturgill Thomas and husband, Andy, all of Shelby; great grandchildren, Karlee Sturgill and Gracie Mae Sturgill; beloved chihuahua, Bella; grandpuppies, Hallie and Ally; grandkitty, Poppy; and many extended family and special friends.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Waco Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Harold Fite officiating.  Burial will follow at Capernaum Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Wednesday from 1:00 to 1:45 PM prior to the service at the church.
