Louis Arth Muller, age 80, of Cherryville, passed away on October 13, 2024, at the Robin Johnson House. He was born June 26, 1944, in New York City, to the late William and Grace Lavelle Muller.
Lou was a veteran of the United States Coast Guard. A welder by trade Lou was a member of the New York City Ironworkers. As a skilled mechanic he enjoyed rebuilding cars and leaving his custom touch on each one. Lou showed many of his custom cars at car shows each year as well as attending vintage flea markets with his best friend and wife, Madeline. Alongside Madeline, Lou raised his 3 children in Long Island before settling in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania.
After retiring to Cherryville, NC, Lou operated Lou’s Welding on Pink Street. During his time on Pink Street, Lou had the opportunity to meet many local neighbors. When not at the shop, Lou enjoyed tinkering in his own garage at home, watching drag races, reading, and golf cart rides around the neighborhood with his dog, Gigi.
Survivors include his loving wife of 57 years, Madeline Roberts Muller; son, Tim Muller (Debbie); daughters, Cindy Cole (Matt), and Christina Terzaken (Tim); and his grandchildren, Samantha, Graciejane, Sage, Sullivan, and Cooper.
In accordance with Lou’s wishes, no formal services are planned.
