Lorene Pruett

Lorene Vada Heavner Pruett, age 95 of 403 Delview Road, went with her Lord and loving husband on July 2, 2013 at Somerset Court Cherryville. She was born February 25, 1918 a daughter of the late Acie Lee and Ellen Clara Hallman Heavner. Lorene was a member of First Baptist Church in Cherryville, active in Sunday School, and served 51 years in the Beginners Sunday School Class. She retired from Howell Manufacturing Company. Lorene was known as the "Watchdog of Delview Road."

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, William Vance Pruett; daughter, Joyce P. Moss; grandsons, Paul Moss, Jr., and Todd Moss, Sr., and 14 brothers and sisters.

Lorene is survived by two grandchildren, Mark Moss of Cherryville, and Areanda Weaver and husband, Robert, of Cherryville; sixteen great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at First Baptist Church in Cherryville on Friday, July 5, 2013, at 4:00 PM with Rev. Dr. Vince Hefner officiating. Burial will follow in City Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, July 5, 2013, from 1:30 to 3:30 at Carpenter's Funeral and Cremation Services.
