Lonnie Peeler

Lonnie Casto Peeler, age 69 of Hephzibah Church Rd. died Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at Kings Mountain Hospice House. He was born on November 1, 1945 in Burlington County, New Jersey to the late Lonnie E. Peeler Sr. and Mary E. Peeler. He was a member of Anthony Grove Baptist Church. Lonnie was a veteran of the United States Air Force, retired from the Air National Guard and served in the Army National Guard. He was retired from FMC Lithium Corporation. Lonnie was a former member of Tryonota Volunteer Fire Department.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Joan Adams Peeler; and brother, Lonnie E. Peeler, Jr.

Survivors include his daughters, Talina Short (Dean) of Kings Mountain, Dena Blalock (Reggie) of Kings Mountain, Dana Hamrick (Mickey Thomas) of Shelby, and Deandra Morgan (Robbie) of Bessemer City; brother, Joe Peeler (Cheryl) of Boiling Springs; sisters, Cindy Homesley (Steve) of Cherryville, Eileen Martin of Hickory, and Mary Elizabeth Stanford of Aynor, SC; seven grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at 12:00 PM at Anthony Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Dennis Bean and Pastor Timmy Whitaker officiating. Burial will follow at Shady Grove Baptist Church with full military honors conducted by American Legion Post #100. The family will receive friends on Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at 1919 Hephzibah Church Rd. and Saturday from 11:00 to 11:45 AM prior to the service at the church.
