Liz Hullender

Mary Elizabeth “Liz” Harrell Hullender, age 90 of Mary Lane passed away Friday, October 30, 2020 at Levine & Dickson Hospice House in Huntersville.  She was born July 25, 1930 in Leflore County, Mississippi to the late Gibb and Clarise Summers Harrell.  She was a member of Second Baptist Church.  Liz was a civilian employee for the US Army as a Property Book Manager.  She was an excellent cook and specialized in making jams and jellies.  Her greatest treasure was her grandchildren and she cherished every moment spent with them.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Hullender Sr.; granddaughter, Karissa Wilson; and siblings, Robert, Billie Mack, Unice, Marion, and Gilbert.

Survivors include her children, Billy Hullender (Brenda) of Crestview, FL, Diane H. Wilson (J.C.) of Cherryville, NC, Ben Hullender (Heather) of Concord, NC, John Hullender (Adrian) of New Port News, VA, and Joe Hullender Jr. (Denise) of Kings Mountain; grandchildren, Alyssia Hibbard (Jason), Cortney Dummer (Ben), Ariel Hullender, Nikki Hullender, Kayley Hullender, Shannon Gerardin, and Nick Hullender (Tabitha); great grandchildren, Sadie and Nora Hibbard; and siblings, Jimmy Harrell (Helen), Helen Scott, Judy Harmon (Mike), Linda Smith (D.I.), and Obera Scott (Bill).

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 31, 2020 at 1:00 PM at Second Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Lail officiating.  A private graveside will be held at Mountain Rest Cemetery.
