Linda Mauney

Linda Carpenter Mauney, age, 69, of Kenwood Road, died August 23, 2014 at her residence. She was born September 6, 1944 in Lincoln County a daughter of the late Fred and Edna Huss Carpenter. Linda was retired from Carolina Freight from the Data Processing Dept.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Yates "Buck" Franklin Mauney, II, a brother, Jack Carpenter and two sisters, Jo Owens and Pat Parker Mauney.

Survivors include her son Yates "Tripp" Mauney, III and fiancée Summer Abernathy and a grandson, Cooper Dixon Mauney, all of Cherryville, a brother, Jerry "Buck" Carpenter of Cherryville, a sister, Peggy Beam and husband Chranson, special niece and nephew, Josh and Drew Mauney, and many other nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at 4:00 PM at Carpenter's Funeral and Cremation Services with Rev. Leonard Bumgardner officiating. Burial will follow in City Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:30 - 3:45 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
