Linda Beam

Linda Sue Beam Beam, 67, of Vista Dr., died February 24, 2014 at her residence. She was born February 20, 1947 in Guilford Co., NC a daughter of the late C. Grier and Lena Sue Brawley Beam.

Linda was a homemaker, member of First United Methodist Church, and former Girl Scout leader. She enjoyed spending time at her lake house on Lake Norman, was a staunch supporter of the Equal Rights Amendment in the 1970's, volunteered at the Blood Mobile for many years, and was very artistic and creative.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by a infant daughter Laura Lee Beam, a son Charlie Beam, and a brother Joel Vincent Beam.

Survivors include her husband of 47 years Michael Beam, daughter M'Shel Beam Bowen and husband Ken of Cherryville, and two grandchildren Mitchell and Meredith Bowen.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 4 PM at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Rick Fite officiating with burial to follow in City Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends at C. Grier and Lena Sue Beams home on Sunbeam Farm Rd. Wednesday from 1-3 PM.
