Lester Conner

Lester “Les” Junior Conner, age 72, of Fred Conner Road, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, Sunday, October 30, 2022, at his residence. He was born September 20, 1950, in Gaston County to the late Fred Conner and the late Mildred Mamie Dellinger Conner Hall. Lester was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Joyce Ann Conner, Loyce Ann Conner Strader, and Cathy Cook; brothers, Billy Wayne Conner, and Jimmy Conner.

He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Melinda Costner Conner; daughter, Angela Conner Wooten (Ron); siblings, Judy Rabon and husband, Bill, Tim Conner and wife, Shelly, Bobby Conner and wife, Cathy, Rita Conner, Brenda McElroy and husband, Mike, Linda Williams and husband, Jimmy; grandchildren, Trish Conner and Lester Wayne Trimnal; great-grandson, Bentley Davis; caregiver, Doris Allen; and numerous nieces and nephews.

His family would like to extend a special “Thank You” to the staff of Hospice of Cleveland County for the care given during this difficult time.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM Thursday, November 3, 2022, at Carpenter-Porter Funeral and Cremation Services with Rev. Bradley Roberts and Rev. Travis Mull officiating.

His family will receive friends from 2:00 to 2:45 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
