Laura Rudisill Screws, age 59 passed away early Tuesday morning, on March 25, 2014 at Robin Johnson Hospice House. She was born on November 10, 1954 in Gaston County, a daughter of the late Dave and Geri McNeilly Rudisill. She was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. Laura was an honors graduate of Ashbrook High School, attended Lenior Rhyne College, and was formerly employed as a teacher's assistant for Gaston County Schools. She had a great love for art.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant brother, Robert Daniel Rudisill.

Survivors include her son, David Stephen Screws of Gastonia; sister, Tess Gibbons and husband, Butch of Gastonia; and niece, Kacey Myers and husband, Clete of Kernersville and their children, Camden and Jacob.

A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, March 27, 2014 at 2:30 PM at St. John's Lutheran Church Cemetery with Rev. Braxton C. East officiating.

The family will receive friends on Thursday from 1:00 to 2:00 PM prior to the service at Carpenter's Funeral & Cremation Services and other times at the family home in Gastonia.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff of Robin Johnson Hospice House for all their love and compassion.
