Kay Dellinger Valentine Marks, age 84 of Pine Street, passed away Friday, June 19, 2020 at home. She was born October 25, 1935 in Gaston County to the late Clarence and Dona Dellinger.
Kay graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Lenoir Rhyne University. She also was a school teacher with the public school system for many years. Kay was a member of First United Methodist Church of Lincolnton. She was also a member of the Writer’s Club, Book Club, and Garden Club.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Victor Valentine; siblings, J.C. Dellinger, Jr., Harold and Faye Dellinger, Thomas and Sadie Dellinger, Lester and Ailene Dellinger, Max Dellinger, Herman and Beatrice Dellinger; Ruby Dellinger and J.A. Hubbard, Dorothy Dellinger and Calvin Blalock, Ann Dellinger and James Childers.
She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Livingston Marks; children, Cameron Valentine (Dane), Vivette Valentine Leonhardt (Steve), and Velvet Valentine Champion (Tommy); grandchildren, Trenton and Haley Champion; sister, Gail Dellinger Peele (Charlie); stepchildren, David Marks (Lisa), Kenneth Marks (Kathy), Elizabeth Gordon (Jim); multiple step-grandchildren; sister-in-law’s, Margie Dellinger, and Gloria Dellinger.
