Kathleen Mary Absher

Kathleen Mary “Kathy” Aslanian Absher, age 68, of Waco, passed away Saturday, October 12, 2024, at Autumn Care of Marion. She was born November 5, 1955, in Fort Lee, New Jersey to the late George Stephen and Elizabeth Reidy Aslanian. She was a Veteran of the United States Navy and former Certified Nursing Assistant. She was an avid reader and especially enjoyed Harlequin romance novels. She also enjoyed cooking and shopping. Kathy adored her grandchildren.  

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Charles Larry “Charlie” Absher; and an infant brother, JoJo Aslanian.  

She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Huss (Charles Boyle); sons, George “Kornbread” Absher (Kathy) and Jesse Absher; grandchildren, David, Cameron, Connor, Beth, Charlie, Spencer, Sierra, and Sage; and great granddaughter, Vera Rose.  

A memorial service will be held Sunday, October 20, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Carpenter-Porter Funeral Home with Rev. Ricky Sigmon officiating, with military honors. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends following the service.
